I am getting a “GPS Not Available” message every time I try to download a course. What do I do?

If you are getting a "GPS not available" message, it is usually related to a setting on the phone not being set up properly, please follow the steps below to verify and/or change settings for the phone and for the GolfLogix application.

To check the setting for the GolfLogix application, go to your phones' "OPTIONS" menu. In "OPTIONS", go to "ADVANCED OPTIONS" then open the "APPLICATIONS" menu (If you recently updated your BlackBerry Storm's firmware, the "APPLICATIONS" menu will just be in "OPTIONS"). In "APPLICATIONS", press the menu button on "GOLFLOGIX" and select "EDIT PERMISSIONS". Make sure Connections, Interactions and User Data all say "ALLOW", then press the menu button and click on "SAVE".

When it comes to the phones GPS settings, please follow the steps below to set your up your GPS.

First, go to your "OPTIONS" menu, then in "Options", go to "Advanced Options" and then go to "GPS". In "GPS" make sure you set GPS Data Source says "Device GPS", GPS Services is set to "Location On", and lastly, make sure the Location Aiding is "Enabled". After you’ve changed the settings, press the menu button and press "SAVE". Once the settings are saved, please reboot your phone by taking the battery out and putting it back in. Once the phone starts up, please step outside with a clear view of the sky for 5 - 10 minutes so the GPS signals can get connected. After 5 - 10 minutes, open up the application while you're still outside.

Why am I always getting a “Network Error, Cannot find the host” message?

If you are getting a "Network Error" message, it’s typically because the phone has a low or bad connection to its data network or the application permissions are not set properly. Please follow the steps below to verify and/or change settings for the phone and for the GolfLogix application.

To check the phone version, follow the steps below:

1) Locate your "Settings" or "Options" menu.

2) Then select "About".

3) Locate your software version, Example: V4.5.0.77.

4) For the Golflogix software to work, your BlackBerry phone needs to have v4.5 or higher. If it does not have software 4.5 or higher, connect it to your computer and update your BlackBerry through your BlackBerry Desktop Manager. You'll need to go to http://www.blackberry.com to download the newest BlackBerry Desktop Manager. If you need assistance in updating your phone, you'll want to contact your cell phone provider.

Make sure that before you try to re-open the GolfLogix you wait 5 minutes while outside with a clear view of the sky.

If you still get the network error, it's possible that your cell phone provider has some settings in the phone restricting access, please contact your cell phone provider to see if they can assist you. If you are outside the U.S, you may also need to contact your wireless provider to verify and possibly amend your APN entry in the TCP/IP option. Since these entries are specific to your wireless provider, we cannot provide the appropriate settings.

If you are getting a net_rim_xml_org module error, it typically means the phone’s software is out of date. Please follow the steps below to verify your phone is up to date:

Why do I occasionally get a “Tunnel Failed” message when I open GolfLogix?

If you are getting a net_rim_xml_org module error, it typically means the phone’s software is out of date. Please follow the steps below to verify your phone is up to date:

Generally you will receive a “Tunnel Failed" message when the phone is not connected to its data network or the BlackBerry isn't setting the application settings properly to grant access for GolfLogix.

Verify that your phone can browse the internet and make sure you see 3G, 1xEV; EV or Edge in the top right corner of your phones’ screen to ensure it is connected to a data network. Important: some data networks are slower than others and if it has a very low connection the GolfLogix application may not be able to open.

To check the application permissions, go to the "OPTIONS" menu. In "OPTIONS", go to "ADVANCED OPTIONS" then open the "APPLICATION" menu. How do I add & remove clubs from “In My Bag”?

The following is how to add and remove clubs from "In My Bag":

1) To add clubs in the GolfLogix application go into "Setup" and then go into "In My Bag".

2) Next, press the "+" symbol in the upper right hand corner, add the name of the club you wish to add and then press "Save".

3) To remove clubs, select a club name, you will see the text highlight blue, and then press the minus symbol. Then you'll get a prompt to delete the club you selected, press "Yes" to delete the club.

How do I use the “Measure My Shot” feature?

When you use the "Measure My Shot" feature, make sure you press "Measure My Shot" before you start walking/driving to your ball. Then, when you get to the ball it'll show you the yardages and then press "Log My Club". Finally, select the club you used and press "Continue Playing".

I just downloaded the GolfLogix application and can’t find it on my phone. Where is it located?

After you download and install the GolfLogix application there's a few different places your phone may store it.

It will either be on your Home Screen, in the "Applications" folder on the Home Screen, or in the "Downloads" folder on the Home Screen. If you do not see the icon in those locations then it most likely didn't download and install correctly.

How do I delete a previous round I played?

The following are instructions on how to delete rounds from your GolfLogix application. Keep in mind that currently there is no way to edit rounds. However, we are in the process of developing that feature.

1) Open the GolfLogix application.

2) Press the MENU button the, choose "Statistics" and go into "Previous Rounds".

3) In the "Rounds Played" screen, choose the "Delete" option in the upper right corner. Then it'll prompt you to select a round to delete.

4) Press the round you wish to delete and then press "Done"

How do I delete the GolfLogix application?

The following is how to delete/uninstall the GolfLogix from BlackBerry phones:

1) Go into the phones’ “Options” > “Advanced Options” > “Applications” or “Options” > “Applications” depending on what version of the phones’ OS you have.

2) Next, find and highlight the GolfLogix application, do not go into it, and press the Menu key.

3) Once you pressed the menu key, a smaller window will appear. When it does, press the “Delete” option. As soon as the application is deleted, you’ll want to make sure to reboot your phone to complete the process.

How do I edit previous rounds I played?

Currently there is no way to edit previous rounds you’ve played. There will be an update in the future that will add this feature.
