GolfLogix GPS Application on the iPhone 3G
Q: Is GolfLogix easy to use?
A: Yes. All GolfLogix products are designed so our Members are never required to
push any buttons during their round of golf. By using your GPS position on the course
and a 2-minute timer that starts when you are within 75 yards of the green center,
GolfLogix knows when you’re finishing the current hole and then automatically loads
information for the next hole. If our Members choose to keep their score and track
all of their personal stats, they can set Score-Stats to ON under the Setup Defaults
tab. This allows them to quickly interact with the screen in-between shots and holes
to enter their scoring and stat information. Then they can view their entire round
summary at the end of their round.
Q: How do I download the GolfLogix GPS application?
A: There are two different ways to download the GolfLogix GPS application…
- Visit your iPhone App store and search for “GolfLogix” to download and install the
application.
- Visit your iTunes store and search for “GolfLogix” to download and install the application.
Both ways are fast and easy to perform!

Golf Courses
Q: How many courses are available with the GolfLogix GPS application?
A: Currently GolfLogix has over
25,800
professionally mapped golf courses available and we are adding more every month.
Our course mapping technology is highly efficient and designed to address the worldwide
golf community. We are actively mapping courses around the world and ensuring their
accuracy. We are the only Golf GPS provider that performs annual reviews of each
golf course map and makes appropriate adjustments based on our member’s feedback.
GolfLogix recognizes that course mapping is a detailed complex process and we have
a professional mapping department available to efficiently handle each request.
Q: How do I determine if my course is available before downloading the GolfLogix
GPS application?
A: You have the ability to search anyone of our
25,800
courses at anytime. Simply click the following link to access our
course search tool.
Q: If my course is not available, can I request a course to be mapped?
A: Yes! On our course search tool there is a “Request a Course” option. Fill out
the small amount of information and our professional mapping team will take care
of the rest. We typically fulfill all course requests within 14 business days.
Q: Can I map my own course with the GolfLogix GPS application?
A: As a premium provider, it is our responsibility to provide the mapping service
and support at your request rather than have you do the work. We carefully map each
course and include the pertinent hazards/carry points on every hole. We use a variety
of aerial and satellite imagery to map our courses. One advantage of using this
method is that we will be updating our maps once per year to reflect the changes
that are made at the golf courses. In fact, we are the only company that performs
a review of each course map annually. We welcome input and additional course information
from our customers.
Q: How does GolfLogix map the golf courses?
A: We have a professional mapping team with access to highly accurate satellite
imagery to ensuring accuracy levels to 0-3 yards which is the current limitation
of all consumer GPS systems on the market.
Statistics and Scorecards
Q: What statistics can I track with the GolfLogix GPS application?
A: At the end of each hole a scoring and statistics screen will appear where you
can track…
- Score per round with a comprehensive scorecard view
- Scoring Averages on Par 3’s, 4’s, and 5’s
- Individual Club Measurements. Our application will track each shot you hit with
the simple press of a button. At the end of the round you can view a club performance
summary where our application will tell you what shot you hit on each hole and average
distance of each club through your round.
- Fairways Hit, Missed Left or Missed Right
- Greens in Regulation
- Total number of Chip/Sand shots.
- Putts per hole. At the end of the round you can view a round summary where our application
will give you the amount of 1, 2, and 3 putts, as well as your total average of
putts per round.
- Total number of penalties in your round.
Q: What if I just track my score, and do not want to track statistics?
A: Although GolfLogix offers the ability to track ALL of your golfing statistics,
you don’t have to. Track some, none, or all of them to your own personal liking.
You can even completely turn of the statistics option and only use the application
as a pure hands-free Golf GPS device.
Q: How do I turn ON and turn OFF the statistics option.
A: While running the application, click on the “Setup” menu tab. This will bring
up your setup menu; from here you can access the “Set Defaults” menu. Within this
menu you can simply turn ON or OFF the Score-Stats option.
Q: Can I correct the default par data on a course?
A: Yes! GolfLogix is aware that courses can change very rapidly. If you are playing
a course where the par information differs from what we have posted, you have the
ability to change it. Simply click on the “Support” menu tab and select the “Update
Par on Scorecard” option. Once in this screen you will have access to alter the
par information on any hole, with the changes taking immediate effect.
Using the GolfLogix on the Course
Q: How do I maximize the iPhone battery life while using GolfLogix?
A: The iPhone’s battery life is very reliable for many functions, we find finishing
a complete round with a full battery is completed with ease. GolfLogix highly recommends
that your iPhone has a fully charged battery before starting your round. Before
the round, there are optional methods our GolfLogix members use that have proven
to increase battery life while on the course. For example, under the iPhone Settings
icon, golfers can:
- Change the Backlight Brightness to 50% or lower
- At www.golflogix.com we offer all of our member’s special deals on iPhone battery
chargers and mounting accessories so you will never have to worry about your iPhone’s
battery life while on or off the course.
We highly recommend that you bring a battery extender with you to the course so
you can use all of the amazing functionalities the iPhone and GolfLogix have to
offer.
Q: What happens during my round if the screen is auto-locked by the timer or locked
manually?
A: Many iPhone users have their backlight timeout feature set to 2 min in order
to preserve battery life. Although this technique is very useful in preserving battery
life, it has some drawbacks while using the GPS. When the phone is unlocked, the
app will pick up right where it left off, so if you have moved from your previous
location the iPhone will need about 30-45 seconds to find your new location and
calculate your yardages.
Q: Can I check my e-mail, make phone calls, or text message while using the GolfLogix
GPS application?
A: Yes, as long as it does not interfere with playing golf. While using GolfLogix,
press the red “End Call” button on the front of your iPhone to select an activity,
when you are finished select the GolfLogix application again to continue playing
golf.
Q: Can I find the distance of my last shot with the GolfLogix GPS application?
A: YES! At any point during your round you can press the “Measure My Shot” button.
This will establish a point so you can walk or ride to the ending location of your
shot. GolfLogix GPS will then tell you how far you have struck the ball and ask
you if you want to log your club for statistical purposes.
Q: Why do the yardages sometimes change while I’m standing still on the golf course?
A: The GPS receiver in the iPhone is constantly calculating your distances. The
yardages may change randomly due to weather conditions and/or the number of GPS
satellites it is currently seeing in the sky. This skew usually results to a 1 yard
variance.

mail us correspondence.

to transfer your membership from one supported smartphone to another supported phone.

www.golflogix.com
and log into your online profile. Once logged in, click on 'Manage Accounts' and

there on how to complete the membership transfer.
- This method can only be done if you did not start a Club Member account. First,
open the GolfLogix application and press ' Play Golf' when the welcome screen appears.

the application and re-open it. After you press 'Play Golf' and it opens to the
'Search for my Course' screen, the phone is recognizing the membership and you're
